OUR STORY

Pull-A-Part was born out of a scrap metal recycling company founded more than 100 years ago by Morris Cohen, a Russian immigrant and entrepreneur who chose Atlanta, Georgia as his new home. Cohen’s sons Bernard and Gerald eventually joined the family business and helped to further develop and expand Central Metals Recycling Company, which would later provide the business insight and vision behind the creation of Pull-A-Part.

Pull-A-Part, LLC was started in 1997, initially with three locations in the Metro Atlanta area. The company remains a family-owned and operated business, with members of the third and fourth generation of the Cohen family helping to lead the company. Pull-A-Part has grown to 25 retail used auto part stores and automotive recycling centers spread across 12 states in the U.S. Pull-A-Part is a nationally recognized leader in automotive recycling as well as in used auto parts retailing. The company has also expanded into used car sales at most of its locations and also serves as one of the largest direct-from-consumer junk car buyers, buying old, unwanted used cars from consumers for cash. Most recently Pull-A-Part has expanded to provide part-pulling services to complement its core do-it-yourself (DIY) model for used auto parts, providing consumers with the added convenience of being able to have a part pulled for them in exchange for a small fee.

Since the company first opened its doors in 1997, it has been guided by the original values set forth by Morris Cohen more than 100 years ago: Teamwork, Respect, Openness, and Growth. Pull-A-Part believes that embracing these values, combined with enthusiasm for its work and its team’s overall commitment to excellence, has been the keys to its success so far and a requirement for its future progress.

Pull-A-Part is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and has been a leader in the recycling of end-of-life vehicles and self-service auto parts retailing since 1997. Pull-A-Part currently employs hundreds of employees between its headquarters, 25 retail store locations, and supporting business operations.
