Pull-A-Part Partners With Johns Creek Fire Department For Week Of Training

Doraville, GA- It was an exciting day on the yard for Atlanta based Pull-A-Part’s Atlanta North store located in Norcross.  Pull-A-Part hosts thousands of people a day looking for affordable used car parts in stores across the country, but this past week they hosted Johns Creek Firefighters for 2 days of training that the firefighters may not have been able to get otherwise.

Pull-A-Part has hundreds of cars parked at their store locations for customers to pick over and pull from, so what better place for firefighters to go to flip a few cars over, twist them up, and get hands on practice and real time experience with their extraction tools and processes.

Ross Kogon, CEO of Pull-A-Part said, “Providing this service to our firefighters isn’t new. We have a really unique opportunity that can help them prepare for the really serious job they have, saving lives.  It’s an honor for us to bring them out here and know that we’re helping them serve our neighbors and our community.”

Johns Creek Firefighters came throughout the week in shifts to train with their jaws of life instruments, spreaders, and newly acquired extraction tools.  They took turns lifting cars that had been turned upside down, ripping off doors and roofs, and experiencing the myriad of things that can go wrong when trying to maneuver machinery that weighs thousands of pounds.

Kogon shared further saying, “We are extremely proud of the partnerships we’ve built, and continue to build, in all of the communities we serve, and we’re always looking for opportunities like this one to make a positive difference.  We’ll supply these guys as many cars as they need to feel prepared when that bell rings; we appreciate them more than they know.”
