PULL-A-PART JOINS FORCES TO FIGHT HUNGER

November 19, 2021

At their office in Dunwoody, Pull-A-Part team members stood in a parking lot throwing axes and packing bags of food for Crossroad Community Ministries of Atlanta, who would go on to deliver those bags to individuals in need. Jenna Griffin, Director of Marketing, was responsible for organizing the event and said, “We love Crossroads Atlanta. We love their mission, and we’re really proud to do what we can to help them succeed.”

Crossroads Community Ministries works to combat homelessness by empowering individuals who have fallen victim to find a path toward stability, both personally and economically.  The kind of support Pull-A-Part offered by filling food bags is a small glimpse into the variety of support services offered through Crossroads.

Griffin stated, “Team Pull-A-Part packing bags makes me very proud, and it will help folks and that is special. But the truth is, this is just a drop in the bucket compared to how much good Crossroads actually does. They help with job training, making sure people have nice clothes for interviews, and much more to help people get on their feet and stay on their feet.”

Pull-A-Part combined this community service event with a team-building exercise made possible by Moving Target ATL, which provides mobile axe throwing as an option for residential or corporate events. Employee's from the company's Marketing, I.T. and related teams competed in different axe throwing games in between packing meals for the homeless. At a time when some team members are still working remote or not always in the office together, this event provided an opportunity for the teams to get back together for both team-building and an important public service opportunity.

Crossroads Community Ministries provides a wide variety of programs, all designed to help individuals find stability with housing, employment, education, and more.

Derick Corbett, SVP of External Affairs, was also proud of Pull-A-Part’s work. He said, “There’s no shortage of need in the communities we serve, and fortunately for me there is no shortage of zeal to give back among our Pull-A-Part team members. We know that as goes our community, so goes our company, and we are invested in making sure our neighbors succeed.”
